“Appreciate the traditional artistic forms and mediums and to experiment, to never fear creative expression.”
As a child growing up in the 1960’s, images of Southern California and the Seattle coastline formed Victor’s artistic vocabulary. In his early education, Victor focused on art classes and was fortunate to have teachers and a family that supported his creativity. During his high school years, he received recognition from many galleries including Petersons Gallery in Beverly Hills, California and won numerous awards, including a commendation from the California Legislature for his wildlife paintings. After high school, Victor attended fine art and graphic design classes off and on at University of Southern California in Los Angeles while painting accurate wildlife originals for clients. His business sense and technical ability in both photography and painting enabled Victor to return to UCLA and teach seminars on art.

After his education, Victor found his life increasingly focusing on his artwork and photography. According to Victor, "I was immersed in the process of creating something based on my perception of reality." His interest in wildlife art has led him on extensive travels throughout Africa, North America, Europe, and the American Southwest. He accompanied National Geographic Magazine on their annual photography expeditions to Klamath Falls Basin, Oregon for the migration of wildlife in that region. Victor also traveled with BBC film crews in Kenya. Victor’s travels have allowed him to study wildlife across the world in their natural environments. It is an education that is invaluable for bringing wildlife to life on canvas.

Whether it is the wildlife and landscape of Africa, North America, or the Southwest; Victor says, "The language of nature is what I understand. It is an inspiration for me and leaves me with a sense of awe and grandeur." Victor currently lives with his family in Los Angeles, California and continues his journey as an artist.

Victor has been published in Southwest Art Magazine, Journal of the West and Wildlife Art News.
